Men’s Surf Shorts
March 14, 2012 by Lance Higgins

Let’s face it people in the west and the Midwest and some parts of Miami, us guys cannot survive without our surf shorts, it what makes going to the beach some much more fun to enjoy. Truth be told some of guys like to wear Speedos and some of us like to wear your traditional swim wear, hey to me I say each his own.
Now some of us like to be sporty and fashionable when it comes to what we wear even if it is only men’s surf shorts. If you like to more traditional looking style you might want to go ahead try getting some plain black or white shorts considering they can go with pretty much anything you have on. Now if you wanted to look a little more stylish then you could try rocking some shorts that designs on them like palm trees or leaves or even the picture of the ocean.
Basically it all depends on what you want to represent, I personally know of people who have their own surf teams and that they specialized shorts that they wear when they are competing in tournaments in order to distinguish themselves from the crowd of people watching them.
Now what I have seen lately on a lot of people is custom made shorts, that’s when you buy plain shorts and you take them to a custom shop and have them put the design that you want on your clothing whether you draw it or the person doing the printing on the clothing is doing it. That alternative can be cool if you want to be original and don’t want to look like everyone else.
What I do like about certain men’s surf shorts is that you can buy accessories that can match up with the shorts themselves like pica shells or a necklace made of shark teeth (my favorite kind of necklace by the way), or a surf wallet that could be the same color as the shorts. I know of some shops that sell men’s surf shorts and they also sell the different shirts to go with them, some shops they might even sell the surf board along with it.
Really when it all comes down to it what you are comfortable wearing as far as swimwear depends on your sense of style and the statement that you want to make.

Investigation in Neurological Disorders – Lumbar Puncture (LP)
March 11, 2012 by Lance Higgins

Lumbar puncture can be safely performed in the absence of raised intracranial tension. The needle is introduced between the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae. The cerebrospinal fluic (CSF) is collected in three bottles for: cytology, biochemical examination and microbiological studies. Manometry during LP is performed to measure the CSF tension. Queckenstedt’s test is done to detect block in the spinal subarachnoid space. Compression of the jugular wein leads to rapi rise in lumbar CSF tension and release of the vein results in its rapid fall. This is abolished in spinal block.
Normal CSF is colorless, clear and watery. Xanthochromia (yellow color) occurs in subarachnoid hemorrhage and in Froin’s syndrome. Turbidity results from increase in cells. Normally, the cells number below 5/cmm and all of them are lymphocytes. Rise in cells is called pleocytosis. Lymphocytic pleocytosis occurs in viral, tuberculous and syphilitic meningitis. Neutrophils pleocytosis occurs in pyogenic meninigits, e.g meningococci, pneumococci. Mixed pleocytosis (both lymphocytes and neutrphils) occurs in leptospirosis, tuberculosis or following subarachnoid hemorrhage. In neuroleukemia immature white cells may be seen in the CSF.
Biochemical composition of normal Cerebrospical fluid include:
1. Proteins: 30-40 mg/dL (much lower than serum level)
2. Sugar: 60-80 mg/dL (50% of serum level)
3. Chlorides: 720 mg/dL (same as serum level).
The cytology, biochemical characteristics, and serology alter in diseases. The alterations in Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in diseases are as follows:
1. Normal condition: Tension (normal); color (clear); cells (0-5 lym/cm); Protein (30-40 mg/dL); sugar (80 mg/dL).
2. Bacterial meningitis: Tension (raised); Color (Turbid); Cells (up to 2000 neutrophils); proteins (increased considerably); sugar (very low).
3. Tuberculous meningitis: Tension (raised); Color (Cloudy); Cells (up to 300-500 cells lymp); Protein (200-300 mg/dL); sugar (very low).
4. Viral meningitis: Tension (raised); Color (clear); Cells (10-100 cells lymph); Protein (50-100 mg/dL); sugar (normal).
5. Syphilitic meningitis: Tension (raised); color (clear); Cells (up to 20-500 cells lymph); Protein (200 mg/dL); sugar (normal).
6. General paralysis of the insane: Cells (up to 100 cells); Protein (40-100 mg/dL); sugar (normal).
7. Tabes dorsalis: Color (clear); Cells (up to 100 cells); Protein (30-60 mg/dL); Sugar (normal).
The CSF should be examined after Gram staining for organisms. In meningitis, this is an excellent method for early bacteriological diagnosis. The specimen for microbiological examination should be cultured without delay to get positive cultures. In tuberculous meningitis, a fine coagulum (cob-web) forms when the CSF is left at room temperature for 12-24 hours. This is coagulated fibrin and it may show acid fast organisms on staining. The rise of proteins in the CSF may be selective and this can be used for diagnosis. Selective rise in globulin fraction can be identified by suitable tests. Previously the colloidal gold test (Lange’s test0 used to be done for this purpose. A more modern and accurate method is to do immunoelectrophoresis. Determination of the immunoglobulins in the CSF and comparing them with the blood levels give diagnosis information. For example, in multiple sclerosis, CSF shows rise in oligoclonal IgG.
The complications of lumbar puncture include sudden coning of the brain stem, severe headache and introduction of infection into the meninges, Lumbar puncture is very risky in the presence of raised intracranial tension. Sudden release of lumbar CSF leads to coning of the medulla into the foramen magnum resulting in fatal depression of respiration and other vital functions, if not released in time. Therefore, lumbar puncture is contraindicated in such situations unless a neurological team is ready at hand. In these conditions CSF can be obtained by ventricular puncture. Sometimes when an LP cannot be performed or the lumbar subarachnoid space is obliterated, CSF can be obtained by cisternal puncture.
I laugh so hard whenever I get spam mails of scammers earning 3digit/4digit/5digit figures just like that for free. There is no way you can earn such amount in a short period of time through the internet just like that. For such a thing to happen, you need hardwork, determination, consistency and microscopic observations. And one of the ways you can apply all these factors in order to achieve great success is through Article networking. You need not buy any e-book to learn and it is not a system of making money, rather a strategy of hard work/good work put together to yield maximum success. How To Grow Taller After Puberty
March 7, 2012 by Lance Higgins

Does one grow taller after puberty? This is one question that plagues our minds often and the answer to this is: Yes. It has been seen quite often that a human being grows vertically even in his twenties and this is often genetic. Post-puberty, there are ways of adding inches to your height. This can be done by either altering your eating habits, or by way of certain drugs and by stretching exercises.
Calcium rich foods help you grow taller after puberty. If you increase your milk, soya bean and tofu intake, your bones grow stronger and increase in length thus adding to your height. Moreover, amino acids present in animal proteins aid in building muscle and bone cytology.
If you want to grow taller post-puberty, then taking human growth hormones will help also. This of course, is best done under medical supervision as they are known to have side effects like increased blood pressure, diabetes, premature hair loss and even cancer, if they are steroids. On the flip side, a quicker remedy is the way you dress. Clothes with solid colors create a height illusion as do vertical pinstripes. Elevated shoes with raised insoles that give the impression that you aren’t actually wearing heels, is also a clever way to add to your height.
The most important factor, however, to grow taller is the correct exercise regimen. If you regularly start stretching by using instruments, then the body’s muscular and orthopedic system gets a chance to be expanded and stretched. This in turn not only strengthens the spine but helps the spinal ligaments to grow. This again, needs to be done under the supervision of a trained instructor, lest you over exercise or stretch wrongly and damage your spine. It is also said that yoga, if done correctly, also helps you to grow taller.
Despite adhering to these measures, do remember that your body’s secretion of growth hormones and spinal curvature are also important in the whole process of growing taller. These hormones are released by rigorous exercising like fast jogging or swimming even. Additionally, working on your back muscles to improve the thickness of your spinal cord discs will aid you to grow. Remember, as you age, your spinal curvature too, tends to change affecting your posture. Therefore, posture correction should be done constantly to make you look taller. In sum, there are numerous ways of growing taller even after the stipulated age. You just need to choose the method that helps you without any negative effects.

We would usually imagine sunny skies, beaches and palm trees when we think of California. However, I can associate a different scene when I think about the state of California. I picture a hilly landscape filled with grapevines. The hills are embraced with wineries filled with the finest wines available in the United States. Of course, I’m thinking about Napa Valley.
You can find a lot of fine establishments that promise great accommodations and luxurious amenities in this area. However, none of them can compare to the Queen Anne Mansion. This is the epitome of the ideal Napa Valley bed and breakfast. There are a lot of reasons why many people flock to this great get away.
This exceptional Napa Valley bed and breakfast was constructed way back in 1886. I’ll bet that you didn’t even know that such magnificent structures, such as the Queen Anne Mansion were built in this region at this early part of American history. Tourists can be amazed at the lovely construction and design of this estate that captures the look and feel of the Victorian era.
You will surely be fascinated by the breathtaking form and design of the Victorian gardens that were created on the property of this outstanding Napa Valley bed and breakfast. The gazebo that rests on the property is a great feature that mimics the Victorian feel of the mansion. The beautiful fragrance from the rose garden can be detected in all of the 17 rooms in the Queen Anne Mansion.
The Queen Anne Mansion also offers a heated swimming pool and relaxing spa that makes it a top notch Napa Valley bed and breakfast. You almost feel as if you have taken a step back in time when you gaze into the Victorian décor of the guestrooms. Fake palm trees are seemingly more popular than ever. They make for a nice decor at your house and people also like to use them for parties. Palm trees remind people of vacations, exotic islands, and good times. So it’s not a surprise they are popular, both real and fake varieties.
So what different kinds of artificial palm trees are available? After all, real palm trees come in many variations, so how many of these are available as artificial trees? Here is a list I found after googling this subject and finding a list at artificial-palm-tree.info:
Areca, Areca Branch, Australian Fern, Bamboo, Bamboo Spray, Bamboo Stick, Banana, Banana Fruit, Banana Leaf, Bella, Bird of Paradise, Boston Fern, Bottle, Chinese Fountain, Coco Branch, Coconut, Coconut Bark, Coconut Branch, Coconut Fruit, Cycas, Cycas Branch, Date, Date Branch, Dwarf, Fan, Fan Branch, Fishtail, Golden Cane, Heliconia, Jungle Twig, Jungle Vine, Kentia, King, King Branch, Lady, Mixed Tropical, Monstera, Monstera Leaf, Oil, Outdoor, Parlour, Parlour Spray, Philodendron, Philodendron Leaf, Phoenix, Phoenix Branch, Raphis, Robellini, Royal, Seeds, Taro, Travellers.
Ok, supposedly all of these varieties of real palm trees are available. This sounds like it is actually true because while investigating, I also found has live auctions of artificial trees with quite a few varieties of fake palm trees.
Another option if you want an artificial palm tree but don’t have the money to pay for one is to make your own. I found several different ways to make palm trees online. This could a fun project to do with your family.
